Springfield Horse CommunityKnown around the world for being involved in two Pan Am Games, the Rural Municipality of Springfield is one of the larger horse communities in Canada.  Springfield is also the largest and most picturesque municipality adjacent to Winnipeg.  No wonder so many horse enthusiasts live here.

The jewel of our community is Birds Hill Provincial Park, an 8000-acre park northwest of the municipality.  Housed inside this beautiful park is a unique equestrian facility run by the Manitoba Horse Council (MHC), which is the governing body for equestrian activities within the province.

There are a number of shows held at the MHC equestrian facility all during the spring, summer and fall season.  Your membership in MHC provides you with a number of things including great liability insurance for a very reasonable cost.  For complete information go to Manitoba Horse Council

When you go to the MHC website you will also find information on the many horse clubs with membership right here in our own community.

This community also has well established support systems for the equine owner.   You can find vets, farriers, feed suppliers, everything you need as a horse owner - right here in our own community.   Some of these services can be found by checking out the following website: Manitoba Equine Directory

Share the RoadThe Springfield Horse community has been instrumental in fundraising for 39 Share The Road signs and is working closely with the RM to have them installed. The RM is now working with the province, on our behalf, for both welcome signs and road crossing signs. One Insurance is also making Share The Road brochures available to our citizens.
