In the fall of 2019, the Rural Municipality of Springfield initiated three new planning projects that will further define its future growth. The projects are:

1.    West Pine Ridge Secondary Plan

2.    Oakbank South Area Secondary Plan

3.    New Springfield Zoning By-law 21-25 (attachment coming soon)

  • 1st Reading scheduled for Thursday, September 23, 2021

In November 2019, a series of in-person public information sessions were held to gather information from residents and landowners in creation of the Secondary Plans and Zoning By-law (Phase 1 Engagement). The draft Secondary Plans and draft Zoning By-law were presented virtually through a narrated presentation and other documents posted on the RM of Springfield website in December 2020. A survey requesting feedback on the documents was available until mid-January 2021 (Phase 2 Engagement).). The final round of engagement was hosted in May 2021 through a series of virtual open houses and survey (Phase 3 Engagement).

The project is now at the stage that the documents are going through the formal adoption process by Council, under The Planning Act
